This year, Goldbelt Frontier and Goldbelt Apex were proud to support and participate in the 13th annual U.S. Army Training & Doctrine Command, Department of Defense (DoD) Warrior Games Challenge. The challenge took place at the U.S. Naval Air Station North Island in San Diego, California June 2 – 12, 2023. Goldbelt Frontier and Goldbelt Apex sponsored Warriors who competed in the annual adaptive-sports competition celebrating the resiliency and determination of wounded, ill, and injured active-duty and veteran service members. The focus of this annual challenge is to serve both the men and women representing the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, and U.S. Special Operations Command on their recovery journey.

This event is part of Goldbelt Frontier and Goldbelt Apex’s commitment to support the active-duty and veteran service members of the larger DoD Warrior Care Program. The Warrior Care Program is designed to provide both reconditioning activities and competitive athletic opportunities to all wounded, ill and injured service members to improve their physical and mental wellness throughout the continuum of recovery and transition. Modified equipment and additional classification systems allow each athlete to compete, regardless of injury or illness.

This year’s opening ceremony was held at the USS Miday Museum in downtown San Diego and followed by ten days of intense adaptive sports competitions including archery, cycling, sitting volleyball, swimming, track, field, wheelchair basketball, wheelchair rugby, shooting, indoor rowing, and powerlifting. This amazing event concluded with medal ceremonies and a sendoff dinner at the Island Club Catering & Conference Center on Naval Air Station North Island with views of beautiful Breakers Beach.  Goldbelt Frontier and Goldbelt Apex held a celebratory dinner for their athlete’s at the historic Bluewater Boathouse Seafood Grill.
